Hinode is a town situated in the foothills of the Okutama Mountains in western Tokyo. The town is dominated by Mount Hinode, its highest point, and is drained by the Hirai and Ōguno rivers. Its history traces back to ancient Musashi Province and it was reorganized during the Meiji cadastral reforms.
