Summary

Hishikari was a town in Isa District of Kagoshima Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Japan. It lay near the coast and was known for the Hishikari gold mine, the largest in the country. In 2008 the town merged with Ōkuchi to form the city of Isa, dissolving the district.
