Hitachi, Ibaraki

Hitachi is a coastal city in northern Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, bordering the Pacific Ocean. The city developed around the founding of the Hitachi corporation in 1910 and is known for its heavy‑industry heritage. Its terrain includes Cambrian marble deposits and a narrow coastal plain traversed by National Route 6.
