Summary

About the place: Hlinka is a small border municipality in the Bruntál District of the Moravian-Silesian Region, situated in the gently undulating landscape of the Osoblaha enclave directly on the Czech-Polish border.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three horizontal stripes of blue, yellow, and blue in a width ratio of 7:2:7. In the hoist part of the upper blue stripe is a white rose with a yellow seed-capsule, and in the hoist part of the lower blue stripe is a white eight-pointed cross. The ratio of the width to the length of the flag is 2:3.

Symbolism: The municipal symbols were granted in 1998. The blue fields and the golden fess (yellow stripe) refer to the Lords of Vrbno and ties to the Maidelberg (Dívčí Hrad) estate to which Hlinka historically belonged. The silver rose represents regional noble and ecclesiastical heritage, while the silver eight-pointed Maltese cross commemorates the Knights Hospitaller (Sovereign Military Order of Malta), who later held the Maidelberg estate.
