Summary

About the place: Hlinná is a municipality in Litoměřice District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic, situated approximately 4.5 km northwest of Litoměřice in a picturesque basin of the Central Bohemian Uplands beneath the peaks of Lysá hora, Varhošť, and Plešivec. The rural community, which also includes the villages of Kundratice, Lbín, and Tlučeň, is known for its undulating landscape, rich flora, and fruit-growing tradition.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two horizontal stripes, white and green, in a width ratio of 5 : 3. The green stripe is shaped into a triple mount (three hills), with the outer hills each occupying one fourth of the flag's length. Growing from the higher central mount are two outward-facing yellow pasqueflowers. Below them in the green stripe are two yellow apples, each with two outward-pointing leaves on a stem. The aspect ratio of the flag is 2 : 3.

Symbolism: The green triple mount represents the distinctive volcanic landscape of the Central Bohemian Uplands and particularly the prominent Holý vrch hill located within the municipal territory. The pasqueflower blossoms directly reference the Holý vrch Nature Reserve, celebrated as one of the most prominent habitats in the country for rare and protected pasqueflower species (Pulsatilla patens and Pulsatilla pratensis). The two golden apples symbolize the long-standing local fruit-growing and agricultural tradition, while green denotes surrounding nature and white provides heraldic contrast.
