Summary
About the place: Holasice is a municipality in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the Dyje–Svratka Valley approximately 15 km south of Brno. Bordering directly on the town of Rajhrad, it lies in a flat, fertile lowland along the Svratka River.
Flag Description: The flag consists of two horizontal stripes, white over red, with a fly-side semicircular field in counterchanged colors, having a radius equal to half the flag's hoist width. The ratio of the flag's width to length is 2:3.
Symbolism: The white and red colors derive from the municipal coat of arms, referencing traditional Slavic colors and the presumed origin of the village name from the Slavic Holasici tribe. The semicircular field at the fly side represents the historic medieval underground tunnels and shelters ('lochy') carved into the local loess in the 13th century, while mirroring the wavy motif from the coat of arms that symbolizes the meanders of the Svratka River.
