Summary

About the place: Holčovice is a submontane municipality in Bruntál District within the Moravian-Silesian Region of Czechia, in historical Silesia. It lies along the valley of the Opavice River in the transition between the Zlatohorská Highlands and the Low Jeseník mountain ranges.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three horizontal stripes of white, green, and white in a width ratio of 5 : 10 : 4. The upper edge of the green stripe is serrated with six teeth in the form of isosceles triangles. In the green stripe is a walking yellow horse with a white mane and tail, black harness, and a white dragging chain. The aspect ratio of the flag is 2 : 3.

Symbolism: The green color and the horse with a dragging chain represent the traditional forestry, lumberjacking, and horse-logging heritage of the surrounding Jeseníky forests, derived from historic local seals. The serrated line evokes the teeth of a woodsman's saw as well as the mountainous skyline of the Zlatohorská Highlands. The white stripes correspond to silver from the municipal coat of arms and allude to the Opavice River flowing through the municipality.
