Holdenville, Oklahoma

Holdenville is a city in Hughes County, Oklahoma, United States, serving as the county seat. The town originated from a Creek settlement named Echo and later developed around a railroad camp named after J.F. Holden of the Choctaw, Oklahoma and Gulf Railroad. Over time it grew into an administrative and commercial centre for the surrounding region.
