Summary

About the place: Horní Habartice is a municipality in the Děčín District of the Ústí nad Labem Region in the Czech Republic, situated in the picturesque valley of the Bystrá stream on the boundary between the Bohemian Central Uplands and the Lusatian Mountains. It is a linear valley village known for its well-preserved traditional vernacular timber and Upper Lusatian (Umgebinde) houses.

Flag Description: A flag with an aspect ratio of 2:3 divided into two halves. The hoist half consists of two vertical stripes, white and black (each one-fourth of the flag's length), charged with a yellow boar's head with red weaponry (tusks and tongue). The fly half consists of two horizontal stripes, white over blue.

Symbolism: The yellow boar's head is a traditional canting symbol referencing the municipality's historical German name (Ober Ebersdorf, from 'Eber' meaning wild boar) as well as the surrounding forested terrain and local hunting heritage. The black and white colors recall the historical affiliation with the Scharfenstein (Ostrý) estate. The white and blue horizontal stripes in the fly symbolize the Bystrá stream flowing through the entire valley.
