Summary

About the place: Hostinné is a historic town in the Krkonoše foothills, located in the Trutnov District of the Hradec Králové Region, at the confluence of the Elbe River and the Čistá stream. Noted for its protected municipal heritage zone, the town is famous for its Renaissance town hall adorned with monumental statues of giants and its long-standing paper-manufacturing tradition.

Flag Description: A blue field with two white hoist-based piles (wedges) with bases each equal to half the hoist width and apexes reaching the fly edge. The width-to-length ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The design and colors of the flag, designed by academic painter Jiří Škopek and officially granted in 1998, are directly derived from the historical municipal coat of arms. The blue field represents the azure shield, while the white (heraldic silver) piles symbolize the silver masonry of the town walls, the two towers, and the armor of the legendary guardian giants. The two converging wedges also geometrically evoke the two towers flanking the city gate.
