Summary

About the place: Hraběšice is a mountain municipality located in the Šumperk District within the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the valley of the Hraběšice Stream in the foothills of the Hrubý Jeseník range, approximately 7 km east of Šumperk. Originally founded as a mining and forestry settlement, it now serves largely as a quiet residential and recreational resort area.

Flag Description: The flag consists of five horizontal stripes of yellow, green, white, green, and yellow in a width ratio of 1:1:6:1:1. Standing on the lower green stripe is a black raven with red claws and beak (armed red). The ratio of the flag's width to length is 2:3.

Symbolism: The raven serves as a canting symbol (German 'redende Figur'), referring to the historic German name of the village, Rabenseifen (popularly associated with 'Rabe', meaning raven), an emblem already present on municipal seals dating back to the 18th century. The green and yellow stripes represent the surrounding forested mountains, hills, and nature, while the white field and raven reflect the municipal coat of arms.
