Summary

About the place: Hradištko is a municipality in the Prague-West District of the Central Bohemian Region, situated in a picturesque forested landscape between the right bank of the Vltava and the left bank of the Sázava near their confluence. It is a well-known recreational area and home to the Medník National Nature Monument.

Flag Description: The flag has a width-to-length ratio of 2:3. It consists of a yellow hoist stripe occupying one-third of the flag's length and five horizontal stripes alternating green and white in the fly. Centered in the yellow stripe is an uprooted flowering dog's tooth violet (Erythronium dens-canis) in proper colors.

Symbolism: The flowering dog's tooth violet (Erythronium dens-canis) represents the Medník National Nature Monument, the only wild native locality of this rare and protected bulbous plant in the Czech Republic. The green stripes represent the surrounding dense forests and natural landscape, while the white stripes symbolize the two major rivers—the Vltava and the Sázava—between which the municipality lies. The yellow color reflects the heraldic gold from the municipal coat of arms. The symbols were officially granted by the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic on 9 December 2002.
