Summary

About the place: Hrdějovice is a municipality in the České Budějovice District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, situated approximately five kilometers north of České Budějovice. Located in the České Budějovice Basin, it comprises the municipal parts of Hrdějovice and Opatovice.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two vertical stripes, white and blue. Centered is a five-petaled rose parted per pale red and yellow, with the seed of counterchanged colors and green sepals, ensigned with a yellow crown. The width-to-length ratio of the flag is 2:3.

Symbolism: The white and blue field along with the heraldic five-petaled rose represent the village's historic ties to South Bohemia and the Hluboká estate under the House of Rosenberg (Witigonen). The golden crown surmounting the rose commemorates the Landgraves of Leuchtenberg, to whom King Charles IV pledged the village in 1378.
