Summary
About the place: Hřibojedy is a municipality in Trutnov District in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic, located in a gently rolling agricultural landscape about five kilometres south of Dvůr Králové nad Labem. The municipality comprises two parts: Hřibojedy and Hvězda.
Flag Description: The flag consists of three horizontal stripes: green, wavy white, and undulating blue, in a width ratio of 10 : 1 : 5. In the green stripe are two mushrooms (porcini) side by side with brown caps and yellowish stipes. The white stripe has five crests and four troughs. In the blue stripe is a white six-pointed star. The ratio of width to length of the sheet is 2 : 3.
Symbolism: The symbols combine canting and geographic references: the two mushrooms in the green stripe are a canting charge directly referencing the name of the municipality (derived from 'hřib' – porcini/mushroom) and the surrounding forests. The wavy white stripe and blue field represent local watercourses and the nearby Elbe River. The white six-pointed star represents the constituent village of Hvězda (meaning 'Star').
