Summary

About the place: Hrotovice is a small town in the Třebíč District within the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the Jevišovice Uplands approximately 18 kilometers southeast of Třebíč. It serves as a local economic and cultural center of the southeastern part of the district, noted for its historical Renaissance chateau.

Flag Description: A blue flag with a horizontal red stripe measuring one-twentieth of the flag's width, placed at one-fifth of the flag's width from the top edge. In the center of the remaining lower blue field are three white wavy stripes, each with one crest and one trough; both the stripes and the spaces between them are one-twentieth of the flag's width. The aspect ratio of the flag is 2:3.

Symbolism: The colors and elements of the flag are derived from the municipal coat of arms granted in 1995. The blue field and narrow red stripe recall the tinctures of the arms (the blue shield and the red hipped roof of the tower associated with the noble Zahrádecký of Zahrádky family, builders of the local chateau). The three white wavy stripes represent local waterways, notably the Rokytná River flowing nearby, mirroring the three silver wavy bars in the base of the shield.
