Summary

About the place: Hrušky is a wine-growing municipality in the Břeclav District of the South Moravian Region, situated in the Podluží ethnographic area near the borders with Slovakia and Austria. The flat to gently undulating lowland landscape of the Lower Morava Valley is characterized by fertile soils, extensive vineyards, and vibrant Moravian folklore traditions.

Flag Description: The flag consists of three vertical stripes of green, yellow, and green in a 3:1:3 width ratio. The green hoist stripe bears two yellow pears placed vertically one above the other. The green fly stripe displays an upright white vineyard knife with a yellow handle, pointing upwards with its cutting edge turned toward the hoist. The aspect ratio of the flag is 2:3.

Symbolism: The symbolism of the flag derives from the village's historic seal dating back to 1622 and the municipal coat of arms granted in 2003. The pears represent a canting charge directly referencing the municipality's name (Hrušky literally means 'pears' in Czech). The vineyard pruning knife and the green color highlight the area's rich winemaking heritage, agriculture, and fertile landscape, complemented by the traditional heraldic tinctures of gold and silver.
