Summary
About the place: Huntířov (German: Güntersdorf) is a municipality and village in the Děčín District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the hilly landscape east of Děčín. The municipality encompasses picturesque countryside including the recreational pond areas of Stará Oleška and Nová Oleška.
Flag Description: The flag consists of a hoistward vertical white stripe occupying one-third of the flag's length and a blue field, from which issues a half red eagle with yellow armament facing the hoist. A yellow bendwise stripe extends from the fifth twelfth of the top edge to the last twelfth of the bottom edge. In the third to fifth sixteenths of the flag's width, a horizontal white stripe issues towards the fly, charged with a centered red cross (arm width one-twentieth of the flag's width). In the twelfth to fourteenth sixteenths of the flag's width, a wavy white horizontal stripe with three crests and two troughs extends from the yellow stripe to the hoistward white stripe. The ratio of the flag is 2:3.
Symbolism: The half red eagle on a silver field references the historic coat of arms of the Lords of Wartenberg, prominent rulers of the Děčín estate under which Huntířov belonged. The red cross represents Saint George, honoring the historical parish church dedicated to St. George, and the Christian heritage of the locality. The golden bend and the wavy stripe symbolize the hilly landscape, agriculture, and local watercourses and ponds (notably Olešský pond).
