Summary
About the place: Huslenky is an extensive mountain municipality located in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic, situated along the Vsetínská Bečva river and thirteen side valleys between the ridges of the Javorníky and Vsetín Highlands in the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. Characterized by traditional Wallachian scattered settlements, it became an independent municipality in 1949 after separating from neighboring Hovězí.
Flag Description: Vertically divided into four stripes alternately white and red in a width ratio of 3:1:1:1. The wider white hoist stripe is charged with an upright red violin. The aspect ratio of the flag is 2:3.
Symbolism: The red violin serves as a canting symbol referencing the folk etymology of the municipality's name (associated with the Czech word for violin, 'housle') and honors the rich Wallachian musical and folkloric heritage. The red and white tinctures are derived from the municipal coat of arms and regional heraldry, with the alternating stripes representing the geographic dispersion of the village across multiple mountain valleys.
