Summary

About the place: Jánoshalma is a town in southern Hungary, located in the Bács-Kiskun County as the seat of the Jánoshalma District. Positioned within the Great Hungarian Plain, it serves as an important local administrative and agricultural center.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two equal horizontal bands of blue over white. Centered on the flag is the full coat of arms of the town: a blue shield displaying the Agnus Dei (Paschal Lamb) in white on a green triple mount, holding a banner with a golden cross. Above the lamb are three golden six-pointed stars. The shield is surrounded by green vine leaves and golden grapes, crowned with a gold coronet topped by a black raven facing left (viewer's right) holding a gold ring in its beak. Below the coat of arms, the name 'JÁNOSHALMA' is inscribed in arched yellow/gold capital letters within the white band.

Symbolism: Blue and white represent the traditional colors of the town. The Agnus Dei (Paschal Lamb) carrying the banner symbolizes Christian faith and the patronage of St. John the Baptist. The green triple mount reflects the local topography, while the surrounding grapevine with golden grapes highlights the area's rich winemaking heritage. The crown topped with a black raven holding a ring references historical connections to the Hunyadi (Corvinus) family lineage.
