Summary

About the place: Janová is a village and municipality in Vsetín District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the valley of the Janovský stream near its confluence with the Vsetínská Bečva river in the Vsetín Hills of Moravian Wallachia. The village features a scenic submontane and pastoral character, with part of its territory lying within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area.

Flag Description: The flag consists of six alternating horizontal stripes of yellow and green in width ratio of 11:1:1:1:1:1. In the hoist half, a bellflower with four blue blossoms on a single green stem issues from the uppermost green stripe. The width-to-length ratio of the sheet is 2:3.

Symbolism: The green stripes and elements symbolize the surrounding Wallachian landscape, the forested slopes of the Vsetín Hills, and lush pastures shaped by traditional pastoral colonization. The yellow colour represents light, fertility, and sunshine. The bellflower (Campanula) with four blue blossoms alludes to the rich local flora of the surrounding meadows and mountain valleys.
