Summary

About the place: Jüchen is a municipality in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, located in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss district. It lies near Mönchengladbach and Neuss in the fertile Lower Rhine region.

Flag Description: The flag consists of two horizontal stripes of equal width – blue on top and yellow on the bottom (1:1 ratio) with an overall aspect ratio of 3:5. Centered on the flag is the municipal coat of arms. The coat of arms features a blue shield depicting, on the viewer's left (heraldic dexter), a small golden inescutcheon bearing a black lion rampant with a red tongue, surmounted by a golden crescent facing left from the viewer's perspective. On the viewer's right (heraldic sinister), there is a silver church with a pointed spire, above which sits a golden six-pointed star.

Symbolism: The blue and yellow colors are derived from the traditional colors of the region. The black lion on a golden field in the small shield represents the Duchy of Jülich, to which Jüchen historically belonged. The silver church depicts the local Church of St. Jacobus, while the crescent moon and six-pointed star are traditional symbols connected to the historical heritage of the municipality.
