Summary
About the place: Kásád is a small village located in Baranya County in southern Hungary, right next to the Croatian border. It is the southernmost settlement in the entire country.
Flag Description: The flag consists of a white field with two vertical stripes along the fly edge – an inner red stripe and an outer blue stripe. The complete municipal coat of arms is placed in the hoist and central section of the white field. The arms consist of a divided shield: the upper silver field features two red flowers with yellow centers and green calyxes; the lower blue field features a silver fish swimming to the right above a silver wavy bar. Above the shield rests a silver helmet crowned in gold with a crest shaped like a golden wheel. The mantling is red and gold on the right (heraldic dexter) and blue and gold on the left (heraldic sinister). Below the shield is a golden ribbon bearing the black inscription 'KÁSÁD'.
Symbolism: The colors and elements on the flag are derived from local traditions and the heraldry of the municipal coat of arms. The red and blue stripes complementing the white field refer to national colors and local identity. The flowers, fish, and wavy bar symbolize the region's natural wealth, agriculture, and proximity to waterways. The helmet crest and ribbon bearing the village name directly identify the municipality.
