Summary

About the place: Kiskutas is a small village in western Hungary, located in Zala County near the district capital of Zalaegerszeg. It is set in the peaceful, rolling hills of the Göcsej region.

Flag Description: The flag consists of a white field with two narrow blue horizontal stripes along the top and bottom edges. Centered on the white field is the municipal coat of arms. The shield is divided horizontally: the upper blue field features a silver (white) fountain with spouting water, while the lower silver (white) field displays two red cloaks with gold trim and a silver sword with a black hilt pointing downwards. Below the shield, the year 1211 is inscribed above a golden ribbon bearing the black text KISKUTAS.

Symbolism: The blue and white colors symbolize purity and water springs, echoing the village name (kutas relates to wells or springs). The fountain in the upper part of the shield represents local springs. The two cloaks and the sword in the lower field refer to Saint Martin, the patron saint of the local church. The year 1211 marks the first written mention of the settlement.
