About the place: Kisvarsány is a village in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, located in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary near the Tisza River.

Flag Description: The flag of the municipality consists of two horizontal stripes—blue on top and red on the bottom. On the hoist side (left side from the viewer's perspective) is the municipal coat of arms, underneath which is a yellow ribbon bearing the black inscription »• KISVARSÁNY •«. The shield of the coat of arms is divided horizontally by a silver/white wavy bar; the upper section is vertically divided into three fields of red, yellow, and red. The first red field features a yellow pine tree, the central yellow field contains a red apple, and the third red field depicts a yellow ear of wheat with two leaves. The lower blue field displays a golden eagle with spread wings.

Symbolism: The blue and red colors represent the local traditional palette. The wavy white bar symbolizes the nearby Tisza River. The tree represents local forests, the apple highlights the fruit-growing heritage (particularly apple orchards) famous in Szabolcs county, and the ear of grain stands for agriculture. The golden eagle in the lower field symbolizes history, nobility, and local heritage.
