Summary

About the place: Klášterec nad Orlicí is a foothill village in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic, situated near the Pastviny Dam in the Orlické Mountains. First mentioned in 1279, its name reflects the local historical Cyriac monastery.

Flag Description: The flag consists of five horizontal stripes: blue, wavy yellow, wavy blue, wavy white, and wavy blue, in a width ratio of 6:1:1:1:1. Rising from the yellow stripe is a white eagle with yellow beak and talons and a red heart on its chest; above the eagle are three yellow eight-pointed stars side by side. The wavy stripes have two crests and three troughs.

Symbolism: The white eagle with a heart on its chest in the upper field derives from heraldic motifs linked to the village's history and its medieval monastery. The three yellow eight-pointed stars are taken from the coat of arms of the Lords of Žampach, who historically ruled the estate. The wavy stripes in the lower part of the flag symbolize the Divoká Orlice River and the local aquatic scenery.
