Summary

About the place: Kněžpole is a municipality in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic, located in the Uherské Hradiště District on the right bank of the Morava River. First mentioned in 1220, its historical development was closely tied to the Velehrad Monastery.

Flag Description: On a white field, a blue pattée cross extends its arms to the edges of the flag. Charged upon the cross is a yellow crozier with its crook turned towards the hoist side (left from the viewer's perspective), with a white sudarium draped into the horizontal arms. Overlaid in the middle is a red princely hat adorned with yellow detailing, and below it, a white plowshare facing forward.

Symbolism: The blue pattée cross and the crozier with sudarium refer to the historical ownership of the village by the Velehrad Cistercian Monastery. The princely hat symbolizes the name of the municipality (Kněžpole = prince's field), while the white plowshare represents the traditional agricultural character and historical seals of the village.
