Komárom is a city in Hungary situated on the south bank of the Danube River, within Komárom-Esztergom County. The fortress of Komárom was a key site during the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, frequently referenced in English sources. Historically, the city was divided by the Treaty of Trianon in 1920, with the northern part becoming Komárno in Czechoslovakia.
