Summary

About the place: Kosmonosy is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, located adjacent to Mladá Boleslav. It is well known for its Baroque chateau, the Loreto complex, and a historical psychiatric hospital.

Flag Description: The field is divided by a bend, red and white, indented, issuing from the first half of the hoist and top edges to the second half of the fly and bottom edges. The white stripe has four square teeth and five equal spaces. The upper fly field is blue with a yellow lion rampant armed and langued red, and the lower hoist field is green with a white cherry blossom.

Symbolism: The yellow lion in the blue field references the historical coat of arms of Kosmonosy and noble families associated with its history (such as the Czernin family). The white cherry blossom on green symbolizes the region's fruit-growing tradition, particularly cherry orchards. The indented bend provides a distinctive heraldic element.
