Summary

Krynki is a town in Podlaskie Voivodeship, northeastern Poland, on the border with Belarus. Founded before 1429, it received town privileges before 1518 and was a site of the 1434 meeting between King Władysław II Jagiełło and Lithuanian Duke Sigismund Kęstutaitis that strengthened the Polish‑Lithuanian union. After losing its city rights in 1950, Krynki regained them in 2009.
