Summary
Kryvyi Rih is a central‑Ukrainian city in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, situated at the confluence of the Saksahan and Inhulets rivers. Founded as a military staging post in 1775, it grew into a major iron‑ore mining centre during the 1880s industrialisation. The city endured German occupation in WWII and has been repeatedly struck by Russian missiles since the 2022 invasion.
