Summary
Kybartai is a town in southwestern Lithuania, near the border with Kaliningrad Oblast. Founded during the reign of Sigismund I the Old, it grew with the arrival of the Saint Petersburg–Warsaw Railway in 1861. It served as the last location where President Antanas Smetona stayed before fleeing Lithuania in 1940.
