Summary

About the place: Levelek is a village in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary. The community is well known for its recreational reservoir, the Levelek Reservoir.

Flag Description: The flag is designed as a vertical white banner. In the upper half, it features the full coat of arms of the municipality with all its heraldic elements. The coat of arms consists of a blue shield with a green base containing a narrow silver fess. In the main blue field, a golden (yellow) tree grows from the green base, flanked on the left (viewer's perspective) by a silver plowshare and coulter, and on the right by a golden horse facing center. Atop the shield rests a silver helmet with a gold crown and elaborate blue-silver and green-gold mantling. Below the coat of arms, the name 'LEVELEK' is inscribed in arched golden capital letters.

Symbolism: The white background is a traditional feature of Hungarian municipal flags. The coat of arms reflects the village's agricultural history with the plowshare, horse breeding, and the lush regional nature represented by the tree and green base.
