Summary

Lidice is a municipality in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, near Kladno and Prague. The original village was destroyed in 1942 by Nazi Germany as a reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. A new village was built after the war, funded by international donations.
