Summary
Limanowa is a town in southern Poland, situated in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It gained town rights in 1565 from King Sigismund II Augustus, experiencing initial prosperity before facing setbacks from plague and Swedish invasions. During WWI, it was the site of the Battle of Limanowa, and suffered greatly under German occupation during WWII.
