Summary

About the place: Litovel is a historical town in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic, situated on the Morava River in the fertile Haná region. Due to the numerous river channels flowing through it, it is often called the 'Venice of Haná'.

Flag Description: The flag field is divided into six square fields arranged in two rows of three, alternating in blue and white. In the upper hoist blue field (top left from the observer's view), there are two vertical white/silver fish – a carp on the left and a pike on the right, both oriented with their heads pointing upwards and their bellies facing each other. The remaining fields are plain.

Symbolism: The depiction of two fish – a carp and a pike – derives from the traditional coat of arms of Litovel and references the town's rich fishing history as well as its location on the branches of the Morava River. The blue and white colors symbolize clean water and the river flow.
