Summary
Lloró is a municipality located in the Chocó Department of Colombia, known for its exceptionally high annual rainfall. The town's name originates from Gioró, a pre-Columbian indigenous chief, and is unrelated to the Spanish verb 'llorar' (to cry). Rainfall measurements taken at a local agricultural farm between 1952 and 1989 suggest it may be the wettest place on Earth.
