Lokhvytsia is a city in Poltava Oblast, central Ukraine, situated on the Lokhvytsia River. It received Magdeburg rights in 1644, granting self-governance through an elected city council. During WWII, it was occupied by German forces from 1941-1943, witnessing a key encirclement of Soviet troops.
