Longueuil is a city in Quebec, Canada, situated on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River opposite Montreal. Founded in 1657 by Charles Le Moyne as a seigneurie, it evolved from a parish to a city in 1920. Fort Longueuil, built in the late 17th century, once stood on the site of the current cathedral.
