Summary

About the place: Loučná pod Klínovcem is a mountain town located in the Chomutov District of the Ústí nad Labem Region, near the German border. Situated close to Klínovec, the highest peak of the Ore Mountains, it is well known as a center for winter sports and mountain tourism.

Flag Description: The flag sheet consists of two vertical sections—red on the hoist side and white on the fly side—underlaid at the bottom edge by a continuous green horizontal stripe with a width equal to one-sixth of the flag's height. In the red field stands a white double-tailed lion with yellow claws and tongue, holding a gray-blue lump of silver ore in its paws. The white field contains a red horizontal stripe one-sixth of the flag's height; above it is a red lily, and below it are crossed gray mining hammers with brown wooden handles. The aspect ratio is 2:3.

Symbolism: The Czech lion with a silver ore rock and the crossed mining hammers symbolise the historic silver mining heritage in the Ore Mountains. The red lily and red stripe derive from historical town heraldry, while the green base stripe represents the surrounding mountain landscape and meadows (Loučná translates to 'meadow').
