Lyman is a city in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, serving as the administrative center of Lyman urban hromada. Formerly known as Krasnyi Lyman, the city experienced a population decline from 28,172 in 2001 to 20,066 in 2022. It was a site of intense fighting during the September–October 2022 battles between Russia and Ukraine.
