Summary
About the place: Lysice is a market town in the Blansko District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It is best known for its Baroque chateau featuring a unique colonnade and landscaped garden.
Flag Description: The flag consists of four horizontal stripes: yellow, black, yellow, and green, in width proportions of 14:1:1:4. The wide upper yellow stripe features two facing black, yellow-crowned double-tailed lions with yellow armature, holding between them two crossed black fire-trimmed logs (ostrve) with eight stubs at the bottom, and a red cushion with four yellow tassels at the corners and a black letter L in the center at the top. On the cushion lies a yellow crescent with horns pointing upwards, surmounted by a yellow six-pointed star.
Symbolism: The elements on the flag are derived from the historical coat of arms of the market town of Lysice. The black lions and crossed logs refer to the Lords of Kunštát, while the cushion, crescent, star, and initial 'L' symbolize other prominent noble families connected to the history of the domain and the town.
