Melnytsia-Podilska is a rural settlement in Ternopil Oblast, western Ukraine, situated on the left bank of the Dnister River. First mentioned in the 11th century, it was granted Magdeburg rights in 1747. The town's name originates from the numerous windmills historically located on the slopes of the Dniester.
