Mesquita, Rio de Janeiro

Mesquita is a municipality within the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, named after Jerônimo Roberto de Mesquita, the second Baron of Mesquita. The city's territory includes a portion of the Mendanha State Park, established in 2013, covering over 4,300 hectares. Historically, the area was comprised of fazendas owned by the Mesquita family.
