Summary

About the place: Město Libavá is a municipality located in the Olomouc District within the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic, situated in the Nízký Jeseník mountains. It was established on January 1, 2016, by separating from the Libavá Military Training Area.

Flag Description: The flag consists of a yellow hoist stripe occupying half the length of the flag and three horizontal stripes on the fly side. In the hoist stripe, there is a half crowned black eagle with red armature, adjoined to the dividing line. The upper fly stripe is red, featuring two turned-away upright white vine knives with yellow handles beneath a yellow crown. From the bottom edge of the middle red stripe rise three white triangular fields reaching its upper edge. The bottom stripe is divided bendwise into white and blue.

Symbolism: The symbolism of the flag originates from the historic coat of arms of Město Libavá. The half black eagle on yellow and the vine knives beneath a crown refer to the historical allegiance to the Bishopric and Archdiocese of Olomouc. The three white points represent heraldic cones from the bishopric's arms, while the blue and white field symbolizes local waterways.
