Summary
About the place: Mórichida is a village in Tét District, within Győr-Moson-Sopron County in northwestern Hungary. It is located in the flat landscape of the Little Hungarian Plain near the Marcal River.
Flag Description: The flag consists of a white field bordered by a red wavy stripe along the top edge and a green wavy stripe along the bottom edge. In the hoist half, it features the complete coat of arms of the municipality. The shield is divided into several sections: a black chief charged with the golden year '1242' flanked by two eight-pointed golden stars. Below the chief, the shield is divided into fields depicting a silver stone two-arch bridge over wavy lines on a green field, a golden trefoil cross on a red field in the lower-left section, a silver Luther rose on a red field in the lower-right section, and a green vine leaf with a golden grape cluster at the bottom. Above the shield rests a crowned helmet topped with an eight-pointed golden star. The shield is flanked by two green leafy branches with red berries, and underneath is a green ribbon with the inscription 'MÓRICHIDA' outlined in yellow.
Symbolism: The red, white, and green wavy stripes recall the Hungarian national colors while symbolizing the local river and landscape. The stone bridge represents the historic river crossing, and the year 1242 commemorates the first written record of the village following the Mongol invasion. The religious symbols represent the community's spiritual heritage (the trefoil cross and the Luther rose), while the vine leaf, grape cluster, and branches represent agriculture, viticulture, and natural prosperity.
