Summary

Münchenbuchsee is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland district of Switzerland, known as the birthplace of painter Paul Klee. It originated from a 12th-century commandery of the Order of St. John that provided hospice services for pilgrims. The town was later governed by the State of Bern following the Protestant Reformation in 1528.
