Nagyecsed

Nagyecsed is a town in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, historically associated with the Báthory family. The town was once home to a castle where Elizabeth Báthory was raised and later buried. Its landscape was transformed by the drainage of the Ecsed Marsh in the nineteenth century.
