Ōgaki is a city in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, positioned in the north‑west of the Nōbi Plain and often described as the geographic centre of the country. The Ibi River flows through the city while the Nagara River forms its border with Gifu and Hashima. Originating as a castle town of Ōgaki Domain in the Edo period, it became a city in 1918 and hosts the annual Bashō Festival each November.
