Summary

Ōgawara is a town in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, located in the south‑central part of the prefecture within the Tōhoku region. The Shiroishi River runs through the town, which borders Kakuda, Murata, Shibata, Shiroishi and Zaō. Established in 1889, it annexed Kanegase in 1955 and rejected a merger with neighboring towns in 2004.
