Palmerston North

Palmerston North is a city on New Zealand’s North Island, serving as the administrative centre of the Manawatū‑Whanganui region. Founded in 1871 and named after British Prime Minister Viscount Palmerston, its Māori name Te Papa‑i‑Oea means “How beautiful it is”. The city hosts Massey University and the Linton Military Camp, anchoring its economy beyond its historic pastoral roots.
